Vitamin B1 is responsible for nerve tissue growth and maintenance as well as energy metabolism. Thiamin also plays a role in muscle contraction and the conduction of nerve signals. It also plays a role in breaking down carbohydrates into energy. Found in grass-fed liver.

Sources of thiamine include pork, fish, beans, lentils, and peas.
