meat meal

meat meal is an ingredient in pet food that is made from taking slaughterhouse and fish processing factory remnants that are not edible for humans, and cooking them, processing them under high heat, and dehydrating them into a dry powdery substance that goes into kibble.

Why we feed?

Most manufacturers use meat meal because it is much more cost friendly than using the whole protein source. however, a quality grade meat meal can be a more abundant source of protein than the whole meat from which it was made.

Why we feed

How to feed?

Meat meal is made by cooking, defatting, sterilizing, grinding, and sifting by-products of terrestrial animals into a powder form. Some meat meals are of very high quality while others are inferior. To identify the difference between the two, the inferior meals will include the words “by-products” in its name or it will fail to identify the specific animal. For example "meat and bone meal" is inferior, but "turkey meal" may be of higher quality.
