Adenosine Triphosphate
Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) is a molecule that serves as the primary energy currency of cells in all living organisms.
How is applies?
ATP production begins with nutrients from the dog's diet. Carbohydrates are broken down into glucose. Fats are converted into fatty acids, and glycerol and proteins are broken into amino acids. Amino acids are used for energy only when carbohydrates and fats are insufficient. After digestion, these nutrients are absorbed into the bloodstream and transported to cells, where they are used to fuel ATP production.
