What to Feed a Dog with Bladder Stones
Water intake plays an important role in urinary tract health. When urine becomes concentrated, minerals and other compounds are more likely to crystallize and form bladder stones. Dogs eating dry food obtain very little moisture from their meals and must compensate by drinking enough water, while moisture-rich fresh foods provide additional hydration through the diet. Increasing water intake and producing more dilute urine are therefore important strategies for many dogs prone to urinary stones.
