Dr. Tejinder Sodhi

The Basics of Ayurveda for Canine Longevity

Explore the principles of Ayurvedic medicine, including doshas, rejuvenative therapies, medicinal herbs, and practical strategies for promoting canine longevity through an integrative approach.

Dr. Tejinder Sodhi is an integrative veterinarian with over 40 years of experience. He graduated from the College of Veterinary Science in Punjab, India, and completed his ECFVG certification through the AVMA after relocating to the U.S. He is the founder of Animal Wellness and Rehab Center in Bellevue, a full-service integrative practice specializing in rehabilitation, physical therapy, nutrition, Ayurveda, acupuncture, and chiropractic care. Dr. Sodhi is trained in acupuncture through IVAS, certified in veterinary chiropractic through AVCA, and completed canine rehabilitation training through the University of Tennessee. He is a past president of Washington State’s first holistic veterinary chapter, a 2023 AHVMA Excellence in Industry Award recipient, a frequent international speaker, and an owner and board member of Ayush Herbs Inc.

Her unique approach for rewilding animal health and happiness intertwines the robust strategies of wild animals with cutting-edge longevity biology to give pets freedom from physical suffering and accelerated aging. She is a Zoo Consultant, Animal Welfare Researcher, Pet Health Concierge, and international speaker. Along the way, she spent time as a lion trainer, learned the flying trapeze, lived in the jungles of Papua New Guinea, dived the Barrier Reef with sharks, and had her hair styled by raccoons.

A former faculty member at Chi University, she has taught integrative veterinary medicine to veterinarians worldwide. Rita Hogan, CH, is a clinical herbalist with more than 20 years of experience specializing in canine herbal medicine. She is the author of The Herbal Dog, founder of the Ethos School of Canine Herbalism, and a member of the Veterinary Botanical Medicine Association. She works closely with veterinarians and integrative practitioners to develop individualized herbal protocols that complement conventional and integrative care. Rita teaches practitioners and dog guardians how to use herbs through an understanding of plant chemistry, energetics, and the interconnected nature of canine health.
